Except he doesn't remember her.

Though publically embarrassed by Cara at the reunion, Brant is intrigued by the beauty who rejects his every pick-up line and charm. Never allowing a woman through his carefully erected barriers, she stirs up his past with her return, along with an undeniable passion. He sets out to seduce her until a series of accidental mishaps forces him to question Cara’s intentions.

Taken aback by her enemy’s suave attention, will Cara continue with her planned revenge or risk reopening her heart to Brant?

For a short novella, this story was quite good. High School Reunion, 10 years, girl out for revenge on the guy who duped her. He was the football star. She the nerd.

She's all grown up now, editor of a fashion magazine and ready for her "get back at him". Oh, but she's still the same girl, but he doesn't know that.

If you need a quick, sitting at the airport waiting for your plane type of love story, then this is your book.

Unforeseen Reunion edition by Clarissa Yip Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Cara Stanford is attending her high school reunion. Brant Thomas the object of her attention is even more handsome than she remembers. Back in the day Brant had been captain of the football team, and the most popular and handsome guy in school. Cara had dogged his footsteps in their senior year, but he never looked at her in the way she wanted. Cara was here for revenge, for the way he had treated her back then. But he doesn't recognise her she is no longer the overweight nondescript person she was.
Although this is a well used storyline, this author breathes life into it. Loved the characters, the writing was well paced and balanced.
Although this is a short story it does not feel that way, you get a complete tale. There are also hot and sexy love scenes as well. An all round winner.
Don't tell me you haven't had this fantasy The guy who turned you down or hurt you in high school shows up to your 10-20-30 year reunion and is suddenly hot for your body. He chases you mercifully, and you turn him down-successfully breaking his heart the way he broke yours all those years ago.

In Clarissa Yip's new release, Unforseen Reunion, this is exactly what her heroine, Cara, has planned for her hero, Brant. Cara was Brant's high school tutor, and a little on the heavy side. She's now famous, skinny, and drop-dead gorgeous. She also looks nothing like her high school self, so Brant has no idea what he's in for when he hits on the lonely hottie at his 10-year reunion.

What ensues is a poignant story of two wounded people finding love in each other. And, of course, a little bit of revenge. You'll never believe some of the twists in this book. I know I didn't. A couple of times, I was yelling at my computer screen, "WHAT?!?!?" Which, of course, only made me want to read more. This very quick read was emotionally stretching. I found myself alternately hating and loving both characters in the space of 70 pages. Which, again, only made me want to read more.

After reading Clarissa Yip's debut book (which I also reviewed), I was eager to read more. And now I'm even more so. Yip has a young, sexy voice that women under 30 will identify with and enjoy. Of course, I'm 30 (therefore, not under 30), and I still enjoyed it, so I don't think it's age-limited, but I do think that it takes a certain pinache to capture the voice of young women today. And Clarissa Yip has done just that, in both her recent releases.

I hope to read yet more of Clarissa Yip. She's re-introducing me to the edgy, sizzling contemporary romance. (from the Pen & Muse book review website)
I bought this book, because I liked the cover. I also recognized the models from some of my other favorite authors covers. I read this in about 45 minutes. short, sweet love story. perfect for a commute to work.
What a sweet and sassy reunion story. I loved that the geeky girl gets her heart's desire in the end. Brings back a lot of memories from high school. lol. I love it when stories do that for me.
A really good, fun read that brings back memories and sadness all at the same time.
How much of our yesterdays did we lock in a box and refuse to allow them out? Only to people they affected, they never left them alone. A really fun, romantic read.
